This is an exciting time for NCS. The incoming Chief Executive will need to lead NCS Trust’s transition, building on a new operating model to ensure quality, stability and value for money takes centre stage to deliver the future vision.
The Role
The Chief Executive will need to build on large-scale transformational change conducted in 2022, driving the evolution of a new operating model nationwide at a pace that supports the continued delivery of a high-quality suite of experiences for young people that has great and meaningful impact.
They will need to:
- Be committed to operational excellence and efficiency.
- Shape the operating and decision-making processes to be more agile and simplified.
- Ensure that financial controls are in place to support continued financial security, sustainability and compliance in line with robust management of public funds.
- Able to establish alternative income sources to support the Trust’s long-term resilience.
- Be a strong and decisive leader and provide visible and inspiring leadership that aligns the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Be a role model for delegation and empowerment, building and inspiring confidence at every level of the organisation reflecting the Trust’s values underpinned by strong equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Work collaboratively with the Board and HM Government on strategic development.
- Operate with people-focus and empathy, taking bold decisions where necessary to protect the health and sustainability of the organisation.
- Be a master in social media that can amplify the reach of NCS.
- Digitally aware and can see the power and attendant risks of digital to amplify the brand and market the trust.
- Understand the unique challenges faced by the most marginalised young people in England.
- Be an enthusiastic, credible and authentic ambassador for NCS.
- Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including HM Government and the NCS network.
- Lead a movement and advance a shared vision that captures the hearts and minds of the wider NCS stakeholder community, including young people, parents, frontline staff and volunteers, the media, youth sector and wider public.
- Manage significant cultural change with people focus and empathy.
- Foster an organisational culture that attracts, retains and motivates ambitious and high-quality staff and volunteers who come from a wide range of backgrounds and communities embracing equity diversity and inclusion.
Location & Remuneration
The role will be Hybrid working from home with an expectation to also establish a presence at our offices in Stratford, London and Manchester. There will be a need for travel throughout England to participate and engage with stakeholders as required.
The salary for this role is up to £160,000 depending on the candidate’s experience.
