- The person appointed to this role will need to demonstrate a breadth of skills, knowledge and experience: Demonstrable experience of leading and developing data & insight within a complex organisation, combining strategic and operational leadership to drive performance and innovation.
- Proven experience of successfully building data engineering teams.
- Proven ability in modernising business intelligence, using reporting and analysis to lead change, improve strategic business performance.
- Proven ability to gain commitment and build buy-in from senior stakeholders.
- Proven technical understanding of complex data systems to influence development and architecture of data ecosystem and platforms.
- Experience of advanced data analytics and insight techniques e.g. predictive analytics, segmentation, forecasting modelling.
- Experience of working with relevant platforms, for instance PowerBI or Azure Data Factory.
- Experience of project management, driving organisation-wide initiatives, encouraging collaboration and coordinating implementation.
- Experience of planning and implementing new digital technology and ensuring staff have the skills and support to use it effectively.
- A good understanding of data protection legislation and its application.
