Formed by Gordon Brown and Amazon, we now have five multibanks around the country with a sixth opening in early 2025. They have already made a huge impact on local communities, with over 500,000 families helped in a way that is both practical and gives them dignity. Seed funding of £6m over the next four years provided by Amazon and Comic Relief has given us the required short-term sustainability to make a genuine difference.
We also have a superb Board of Trustees, which includes Eric Salama (formerly executive at WPP and chair of Comic Relief), Annemiek Hoogenboom (formerly founder of Postcode Lottery), Chris Mould (formerly founder of Trussell Trust), Arabella Weir (actress), Bob Garmory (logistics executive at Purvis Group), Jill Whitehouse (lawyer and NED), Sir Dave Ramsden (deputy governor of the Bank of England) and Shaheen Sayed (CEO Accenture UK and Africa) . Gordon Brown and Amazon do not sit on the Board but are involved day to day.
We are now at the point where we need an innovative and dynamic CEO who can drive the organization forward, finalise the business plan, harness the relationship between Multibank UK and the local multibanks, drive increased supplies and funds and build the brand. We want to grow the existing multibanks, consolidate the network, make it sustainable, then expand to other parts of the country where need is greatest.
The person we are seeking will be an exceptional self-starting individual, capable of thinking strategically and executing well, able to engage with and influence multiple high level stakeholders.
