Essential Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in a senior role leading impact measurement, evaluation, or applied research, ideally within public service, financial services, or social policy.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering evaluation strategies and frameworks at an organisational scale.
- Expertise in outcome measurement methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Experience leading major research programmes that shape senior-level decisions.
- Ability to translate data and evidence into actionable strategic insight.
- Skilled at identifying service gaps, unmet needs, and population-level risks, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including advising executive teams and working within political or regulatory contexts.
- Ability to demonstrate relevant postgraduate-level experience, if you do not hold a formal postgraduate qualification.
Desirable
- Knowledge of government reporting frameworks, public value assessment, and policy evaluation – including the Government’s Magenta Book.
- Experience engaging with financial regulators or leading cross-sector initiatives on inclusion or prevention.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., evaluation, economics, public policy, behavioural science).
- Experience with AI or other innovative tools in research and evaluation, and the ability to ensure they are used safely and effectively.
