The Finance Director at MaPS will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
PART ONE
Essential
We are looking for someone who has proven ability across the competencies outlined below:
- Leadership – Proven experience of successfully playing a part in leading and developing an organisation to achieve common goals, delivering transformation and high-performance.
- A proven track record of working in a finance function in a central government department or Arm’s Length Body with an accompanying understanding of its finance and governance and reporting systems.
- Experience in successfully overseeing the implementation and embedding of new Target Operating Models and in ensuring the finance function fully embraces the opportunities they present.
- Stakeholder management –. Proven track record of senior stakeholder management ideally in a central government department/ Arm’s Length Body environment.
- Culture change – Proven track record of creating or changing the business and people culture through co-creating ways of working and agreed behaviours for both employees and a wider range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable evidence of successfully leading and embedding within an organisation a matrix working environment overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strategic Mindset – Evidence of the ability to take measured risks as you see the bigger picture, to learn what works and what doesn’t quickly, and to develop teams around you with this mindset.
- Actively promotes, develops and motivates diverse teams, managing talent, and developing individuals within teams and across the function, and programme of succession planning.
- Promotes consistent excellence and a continuous improvement approach in the team’s output, whilst balancing working at pace to manage a full workload with conflicting short and long-term priorities.
Qualification:
- Qualified with full membership of a CCAB UK Body or equivalent with a substantial track record of success in a senior finance leadership role in a fast-moving finance area in a highly complex, customer focused organisation.
Desirable
- Evidence of working in with a customer-centric environment and in taking a strategic approach to their work.
