Welcome

Thank you for your interest in this position of Programme Director, which sits at the very heart of a fast-moving, multi-faceted programme of national consequence.

The concept of pensions dashboards to help UK citizens plan for their retirement has existed for nearly two decades, but the past 5 years have seen an acceleration towards making this tool a reality. Tens of millions of pension records are now safely connected to the digital infrastructure for dashboards, and we are soon to begin testing of the state-provided MoneyHelper dashboard developed by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as part of a key milestone towards our public launch.

That’s why this is an exciting time to join the Pensions Dashboards Programme. The new director will have the opportunity to shape delivery of the rest of the connection process of pensions pots to the dashboards architecture, to shape the MoneyHelper dashboard testing process, and to ensure that industry stakeholders remain firmly engaged with the objectives of the programme to help us co-create the best solutions for millions of people in the UK.

As you prepare your application, imagine stepping into this pivotal role, where you will have the chance to collaborate closely with my wider leadership team and colleagues across the business. You will be working with the team to ensure we’re driving this programme through to a successful launch and onwards to a ‘Business As Usual’ status.

In this position, you will manage a highly quality senior leadership team who work across digital design, policy and data, programme management, connection, and communications and engagement. This programme sits within the wider MaPS organisation, so you will interact daily with members of MaPS’ Executive Committee, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

In a speech on 9 July, the Minister for Pensions emphasised the cross-party support for dashboards in underlining the political commitment to bring this tool into daily life. So, if you see yourself as someone who enjoys the challenge of delivering and improving a major Government project, then I strongly encourage you to apply for this position.

We look forward to hearing from you.
