Person Specification – Executive Director, Finance & Digital Transformation

Key Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Significant experience in providing strategic financial leadership and advice ideally gained within an INGO or humanitarian context.
  • Significant experience leading a wide range of portfolios, including governance, risk, change management, strategy and planning, and digital technology.
  • Strong track record of delivering transformational organisational change projects, across multiple portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with the Board of Trustees, and CEO to build systems and approaches designed to monitor organisational performance at a strategic level.
  • Experience leading and motivating senior, multi-disciplinary teams across diverse portfolios to deliver results.

Skills

  • Demonstrated collaboration and stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work across portfolios, identifying opportunities, and seeking out innovative solutions to system issues, building strong cases for organisational change.
  • Strong ability to develop, build capacity, and lead high performing teams.
  • Solid understanding of compliance across governance, finance and risk areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic decision making and navigate a complex, external environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organisation strategy, planning, and performance processes.

Qualifications

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) preferred

Regular international travel is expected as part of this role, including to countries which are in conflict, and/or have a hardship classification.
