Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management – Level 7
  • Managing an HR Team in a similar sized organisation
  • Developing, interpreting, and implementing HR Policies and Procedures
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of employment law and how to implement into policies and procedures
  • Providing advice and guidance relating to HR issues, both from a statutory and organisational perspective
  • Implementing and embedding a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Experience of successfully advising on complex employee relations cases
  • Experience of advising on restructures, organisational change and TUPE transfers
  • Managing HR projects and change programmes
  • Managing HR Budgets
  • Track record of building relationships with and partnering senior leaders
  • Demonstrable experience of operating at a tactical / operational level
  • Risk identification, reporting and management to ensure that activity is implemented to minimise risks to the Trust
  • Working with an on-line recruitment system

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable experience of operating at a strategic level
  • Implementing a procedure that is compliant working within DPA and knowledge, planning for the future of GDPR
  • Some work within the Charity / Voluntary / Third Sector
  • Multi-site experience

Essential:

  • An effective team leader (able to lead by example and act as a good role model for the team)
  • Highly developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Numerate and comfortable with calculating and reporting on the financial impact of HR changes (e.g., adopting the Living Wage)
  • Able to communicate complex and / or sensitive / contentious information to internal and external individuals and groups, where there may be significant barriers to acceptance or understanding
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidences
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to prioritise work to deliver results when faced with tight deadlines and conflicting tasks
  • Competent with Microsoft suite, in particular; Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Able to coach managers and members of the HR Team, to deliver the best possible work performance

  • Able to successfully pass a Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy test

Essential:

  • Able to travel throughout the UK to visit Trust locations, including those situated away from public transport links
  • Full and current driving license
  • Willing to undertake a DBS check which must be satisfactory to the Trust
  • Able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, nights, and weekends, if required
