Welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining us at Invictus UK 2027 Ltd, a special purpose vehicle with charitable objects , which has been created to deliver the Invictus Games in Birmingham 2027, alongside impact and legacy programmes in the run up to, and after, the Games.

From the very first Games in London in 2014, Invictus has become a global movement inspiring the rehabilitation and recovery of those wounded, injured or ill during their Service in the Armed Forces, and supporting their families, around the world; inspiring those with adaptive needs to push the boundaries on what they can achieve. Following a highly competitive process, the bid from the UK was awarded preferred host status in July 2024 and we are now embarking on putting our vision and plans in to action delivering a Games with a sustainable legacy that enables communities to thrive.

We have defined our commercial strategy and model and we are maturing conversations with key partners. We have set out our ambition for legacy and impact and that will start from next year; we have identified new sports to deliver at Games time at a venue where everything will be on one site (including accommodation). We have an executive team in place and a strong relationship with our delivery partner, ISG Live and our host, the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) Birmingham.

We are looking for a Chair to join us on our journey of putting our vision, strategy, and plans in to action and who can bring together a new Board of Directors (who will become Trustees once charity registration is completed); to support and challenge the team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of relevant experience; help us evolve and innovate; advocate for Invictus and its ability to inspire the wounded, injured and or sick and their families and those who support them, along with the wider disabled community, businesses and the general public. We are looking for a Chair who has held significant non-executive and Chair roles previously who can bring a Board of diverse minds together to achieve our common aims and most importantly who shares our passion and drive to deliver the most cohesive Invictus Games to date; putting the experience and tangible legacy for wounded, injured and or sick Serving personnel, veterans and their families at the very heart of all that we do.

We are also planning to appoint non-executive members to our board as part of this search, and we will be interested to talk to those who might be less suited for the Chair but who are nonetheless excited to get involved and have relevant board level experience. In addition to the IUK27 Board the executive team will be establishing stakeholder groups encompassing departments across Government, the third sector and academia.
