About the role<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the Head of Partnership Services at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People (HDfDP) you will design, develop and deliver high-quality, tailored support that ensures every hearing dog recipient feels valued and empowered throughout their journey.<\/p>\n

You will lead a dedicated team who assess and understand recipients\u2019 changing needs, integrating wider practical and emotional hearing loss services alongside dog-partnerships to provide user-centred holistic support. By prioritising pro-active support during partnership placement and beyond, you will safeguard the long-term success of each life-changing match.<\/p>\n

Alongside operational excellence, you will inspire and motivate your high-performing team with a positive solutions-focused approach in line with our values, championing the profound impact of assistance dog partnerships every day.<\/p>\n

You will work effectively as part of both a Services Senior Management Team, collaborating effectively across departments and with external partners. You will play a critical role helping to deliver our 5-year strategy, enhancing and extending our service offer, including growing the number of successful partnerships we support annually.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, you will help rebuild connection, companionship and confidence, ensuring that nobody experiencing hearing loss feels isolated.<\/p>\n

Our Service Ambition<\/strong><\/p>\n

Partnership Services puts the recipient at the centre of their hearing journey, providing the right support at the right time as their needs change. Hearing Dogs remain central, but we look beyond the dog to understand each person\u2019s wider hearing loss needs, and connect them with Hearing Link services, information or specialist organizations that will help them regain confidence, connection and companionship.<\/p>\n

What You Will be Responsible for<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Strategy and Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Contribute to the development of a multi-year Services strategy that delivers against the three core pillars of the Charity-wide strategy.<\/li>\n
  • Working with the Services and Strategy, Performance and Impact teams, design, develop and implement an effective and efficient user-centred service model, informed by data and insight.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor, report on and, use data and insight to continuously improve service quality and reach.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the multi-year business planning process, including annual review and reforecast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Leadership and Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Provide inspiring, motivational, visible, calm, and clear leadership, consistently role modelling HDfDP\u2019s Values and Behaviours.<\/li>\n
    • Lead and develop the Partnership Services team, embedding an open, inclusive and high-performing culture, with clear accountability and where continuous learning is championed.<\/li>\n
    • Work effectively as part of a collaborative, solutions-focused Services Senior Leadership Team and more broadly with the Senior Management Team (SMT) across the Charity.<\/li>\n
    • Pro-actively engage with the wider assistance dog and not-for-profit sector to share best practice and support innovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Service Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Oversee dog-recipient partnerships, ensuring the team are providing a high-quality holistic user led offer including access to Hearing Link services and signposting to external support alongside the dog partnership.<\/li>\n
      • Implement and maintain agreed KPIs, service approaches, standards and quality measures, using performance information to identify and act on variation, risk and improvement opportunities.<\/li>\n
      • Ensure wherever possible, canine healthcare and behavioural issues are managed in situ and moves are minimised. Work closely with the Canine Healthcare and Breeding, and Dog Training teams to ensure complex cases are addressed in an effective and timely manner.<\/li>\n
      • Lead the successor dog process including forecasting demand, reporting to the Services SMT and contributing to the Services Committee dashboard quarterly.<\/li>\n
      • Work with colleagues to reduce the successor dog wait time and to sustainably increase the number of partnerships in line with organisational targets.<\/li>\n
      • Contribute to the development and delivery of a local engagement strategy that builds community, supporting volunteer recruitment and retention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Stakeholder Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders, continuously improving our partnership services and extending our reach.<\/li>\n
        • Work in partnership with specialist teams where their input is required, including Dog Training, Healthcare, Support Pathways, Strategy, Performance and Impact.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure information, learning and good practice are shared across the organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Budget Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Working with the Finance team and Director of Services, manage the Partnership Services budget, including supporting forecasting and reporting.<\/li>\n
          • Regularly monitor expenditure against agreed budget, identifying variances, corrections and potential for improvement.<\/li>\n
          • Work with Income Generation and Finance teams to build, manage and report on restricted funded project budgets, as applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            All Hearing Dogs for Deaf People staff are expected to<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Uphold HDfDP’s Values and Behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues across HDfDP and with external stakeholders.<\/li>\n
            • Follow HDfDP\u2019s mandatory policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Data Protection and Health and Safety,\u00a0always complying with legislation and statutory duties.<\/li>\n
            • Maintain the highest possible standards of canine welfare and ensuring relevant Assistance Dogs International accreditation compliance standards are met.<\/li>\n
            • Demonstrate HDfDP\u2019s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive organisation by participation in deaf awareness and communication training.<\/li>\n
            • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by their manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Hearing Dogs for Deaf People are committed to safeguarding. All successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check (e.g., DBS\/PVG or similar), including references covering any gaps of employment\/education, confirm eligibility to work in the UK and complete a health check.<\/strong><\/p>\n
