We recognise the importance of technology in helping us become a more effective funder, and its role in safeguarding the Foundation from harm. We are looking for an individual to join the Board who has the experience and vision to provide insight into new and future technologies that we can harness in support of our mission and who is able to support the organisation as we deliver our first technology strategy, with guidance and ability to provide oversight of appropriate technology governance principles for its design and implementation.<\/p>\n<h3>This Trustee role as lead Technology Trustee<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>To help the Foundation grasp the wide range of opportunities that technology presents in terms of improving health and health equity, measuring impact, fundraising, investing and managing organisations;<\/li>\n<li>Connect the Foundation to companies and experts in the technology field who can expand our horizons on what is possible in technology today and in the future;<\/li>\n<li>To support and challenge our Technology leaders in their execution of our technology transformation strategy;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>All Trustee Roles<\/h3>\n<p><em>Mission and Strategy:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In line with its charitable purposes, analysing and contributing positively to the mission, strategic development and vision of the Foundation and long-term plans for the Foundation and its beneficiaries;<\/li>\n<li>holding the Chief Executive and Executive Team to account for the effective management and delivery of the Foundation\u2019s strategic aims and objectives, where appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>safeguarding the good name and reputation of the Foundation;<\/li>\n<li>building and maintaining close relations between the Foundation\u2019s various constituencies and stakeholder groups to promote the effective operation of the Foundation\u2019s activities;<\/li>\n<li>promoting the Foundation and its work to fulfil its charitable objects and provide public benefit;<\/li>\n<li>managing the Foundation\u2019s resources so as to optimise impact and the delivery of the Foundation\u2019s objects; and<\/li>\n<li>setting the tone for the Foundation through leadership, behaviour and performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Governance and Board Activities<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>participating fully in the work of the Board, ensuring the collective responsibility of the Board;<\/li>\n<li>attending and participating in the scheduled and ad hoc meetings of the Board;<\/li>\n<li>membership and, where relevant, chairing of Foundation committees;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining the Trustees\u2019 commitment to board diversity, renewal and succession management in line with the Foundation\u2019s governing documents and the Foundation\u2019s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan;<\/li>\n<li>participating in a board induction, any training and other evaluation identified as an individual and as part of the Board or Foundation committee;<\/li>\n<li>undergoing an individual and Board performance appraisal, and attending any additional training highlighted as a result of the evaluation process;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining absolute confidentiality about all aspects of the Trustees\u2019 business, bearing in mind the overriding legal obligations placed upon trustees;<\/li>\n<li>ensuring that appropriate procedures, processes and controls are in place and followed;<\/li>\n<li>managing potential conflicts of interest to ensure probity is maintained and there is appropriate transparency; and<\/li>\n<li>identifying and assessing risks and opportunities for the Foundation, determining which are appropriate or desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Performance Management<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ensuring the effective implementation of Board decisions by the Chief Executive and the Executive Team, where appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>ensuring a fully effective and appropriate system for the recruitment, appointment and monitoring of the work and activities of the Chief Executive and, where applicable, other members of the Executive Team;<\/li>\n<li>setting challenging objectives for improving performance and monitoring performance against those targets;
