With a new 10-year strategy, the incoming Chair will play a critical role in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guiding the Foundation\u2019s evolution and ensuring it is fully aligned with mission and impact<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening partnerships across health, policy and investment ecosystems<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the Chief Executive to deliver organisational transformation at scale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Chair is responsible for providing clear leadership of the Board and leading the other Trustees in the development and determination of the Foundation\u2019s strategy. In addition to those duties and responsibilities performed by all Trustees, the Chair shall lead on:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Leadership<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>providing clarity of vision to the Board on the strategic development of the Foundation, ensuring that the Board has agreed strategic priorities and the Foundation has an agreed mission and values;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring and providing scrutiny as to the progress of the Foundation in light of its strategic objectives;<\/li>\n<li>leading the Board in identifying key strategic decisions to be made and delivered;<\/li>\n<li>providing leadership and support to the Chief Executive and holding the Chief Executive to account for the management and delivery of the Foundation\u2019s strategic aims and objectives;<\/li>\n<li>supporting and appraising the performance of the Chief Executive; and<\/li>\n<li>upholding the values of the Foundation by example, and to ensure that the organisation promotes equity, inclusivity and diversity for all its stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Decision-making<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>ensuring timely and well-founded decision-making that advances the values and purpose of the Foundation;<\/li>\n<li>creating productive relationships with and among individual Trustees;<\/li>\n<li>creating the environment for a high performing board team where challenge and scrutiny are welcomed;<\/li>\n<li>facilitating effective board meetings, liaising with the executive on agenda planning and provision of supporting papers and ensuring that the business is covered efficiently and effectively in those meetings;<\/li>\n<li>encouraging all Trustees to contribute their skills, experience and opinions; and<\/li>\n<li>acting between full meetings of the Board in authorising action to be taken intra vires.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Governance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>ensuring that appropriate procedures, processes and controls are in place and followed;<\/li>\n<li>managing potential conflicts of interest to ensure probity is maintained and there is appropriate transparency;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining the Trustees\u2019 commitment to board diversity, renewal and succession planning, and leading on Trustee recruitment;<\/li>\n<li>with the support of the Vice-Chair, undergoing an individual and Board performance appraisal and undertaking evaluations of the performance of Trustees, and taking forward any appropriate actions highlighted as a result of the evaluation process;<\/li>\n<li>ensuring all voices at the Board are, and feel, heard in order to build an inclusive culture; and<\/li>\n<li>representing the Foundation at functions, meetings and in the wider media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>External<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with Guy\u2019s and St Thomas\u2019 NHS Foundation Trust;<\/li>\n<li>being an ambassador for the Foundation;<\/li>\n<li>being willing to support the Foundation\u2019s fundraising activities, including through supporting high value fundraising, opening your networks and hosting events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-208","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/208","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=208"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/208\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":312,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/208\/revisions\/312"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/gsttf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=208"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
