It remains the only dedicated gambling harm helpline and online service available around the clock, offering support by telephone, online chat, email and WhatsApp. GamCare also delivers treatment services, education programmes and community outreach, using a confidential, non-judgemental and person-centred approach to help people find their path to the right support.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024\/25, more than 130,000 contacts were made to GamCare services, reflecting the growing demand for advice and support, with 96% of individuals completing feedback\u00a0stating\u00a0they would recommend the service to others.\u00a0 Our treatment teams delivered over 8,100 treatment sessions with rapid access\u00a0remaining\u00a0a key benefit for those who need our support.<\/p>\n<p>In our recent assessment from CQC, our services were found to be well-led, high quality with a strong focus on person centred care.\u00a0\u00a0The Helplines Partnership also reaccredited the National Gambling Helpline, providing external assurance\u00a0for this in\u00a0demand\u00a0service.<\/p>\n<h3>Why Now<\/h3>\n<p>The introduction of the mandatory levy saw commissioning arrangements change in April 2026.\u00a0\u00a0GamCare received the largest allocation to a VCSE organisation from OHID for its prevention activity and has also\u00a0retained\u00a0agreements to deliver treatment in England and Scotland.\u00a0\u00a0We will shortly confirm the contract for the National Gambling Helpline and Online functions.<\/p>\n<p>With successful commissioning outcomes completed, it is time to refocus our efforts on ensuring the services delivered are of the highest quality and constantly improve, in response to the very changing nature of gambling harms.\u00a0\u00a0This focus is underpinned by a multi-million pound investment into the digital infrastructure of GamCare, aimed at improving the user experience and reducing the gap from harm to help.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Board<\/h3>\n<p>The GamCare Board of Trustees brings together experts from the NHS,\u00a0the commercial\u00a0sector, and importantly experts by experience to drive forward the strategy of the Charity and ensure the mission is progressed. Under the guidance of our Chair, Margot Daly, four committees support and challenge the executive, seeking assurance that delivery is underway and risks are managed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You can read more about our trustees here: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gamcare.org.uk\/about-us\/board-of-trustees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.gamcare.org.uk\/about-us\/board-of-trustees\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The four committees are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Audit, Risk and Development Committee <\/strong>\u2013 with responsibility for financial performance, risk management and assurance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clinical Quality and Services Committee<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 with responsibility for high quality service delivery and contract performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>People, Culture and Remuneration Committee<\/strong> \u2013 with responsibility for engagement, wellbeing and strong management structures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Policy, Communications, and Engagement Committee<\/strong> \u2013 with responsibility for overseeing external affairs, brand awareness, marketing and communications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Committees meet four times a year, as does the Board with additional strategy development day scheduled as needed.\u00a0\u00a0Meetings are held in person at our London office though hybrid attendance is available for those where travel would be a barrier.<\/p>\n<p>The GamCare Board is a purpose-driven and highly engaged group. The culture is collaborative and constructive, with open, thoughtful discussion and a clear expectation that Trustees will both support and challenge. Diverse perspectives are actively encouraged, and debate is used to strengthen decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>Trustees work closely with the Executive team, combining strategic oversight with independent judgement, and are encouraged to stay connected to the organisation\u2019s purpose through engagement beyond the Boardroom.<\/p>\n<p>Being a Trustee at GamCare means contributing to informed, often complex discussions alongside a committed, high-performing Board, with a shared focus on delivering meaningful impact for those affected by gambling harm.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"mb-15\">Our Executive Leadership Team<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Victoria Corbishley, Chief Executive Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Victoria Corbishley joined GamCare as Chief Executive Officer in April 2025. She brings to the charity a wealth of leadership experience in healthcare transformation and service delivery at a pivotal moment for the sector. Victoria joined GamCare from the British Red Cross, where she served as Senior Director of Health and Care, leading large-scale national health operations and shaping strategy for community services across the UK. Victoria has a proven track record in leading complex health systems and driving service improvements at scale while maintaining a strong commitment to evidence-based, person-centred care. Her career spans the NHS, voluntary sector, and healthcare innovation, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable people through the delivery of effective intervention and prevention models.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Weiss, Director of Marketing, Brand Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark joined GamCare in May 2022, and brought with him over a decade of experience in health policy and communications.\u202fPrior to joining us, he spearheaded all aspects of Policy and Public Affairs for the UK\u2019s largest hospital specialty, anaesthesia, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chris Thornton, Director of Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chris Thornton joined GamCare in May 2026. As our Director of Operations, Chris is responsible for the delivery and performance of GamCare&#8217;s national and regional services, including the National Gambling Helpline.Chris brings extensive senior leadership experience spanning the NHS, voluntary sector and commercial operations. He joins GamCare from the British Red Cross where, as Director for the North of England and Isle of Man, he led multi-disciplinary health and care operations, business development and national projects. He is a Chartered Companion of the Chartered Management Institute and served for eight years on the Nursing and Midwifery Council\u2019s Fitness to Practise Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexa Roseblade, Chief of Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alexa leads on effective communication and collaboration across the organisation, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and operational execution. Alexa oversees GamCare risk management, project management, and organisational development initiatives, enhancing organisational effectiveness, driving strategic priorities, and supporting the success of the Chair, CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team. Alexa has worked in the third sector for over 15 years, leading operational teams in organisations such as The National Deaf Children\u2019s Society, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research UK. Alexa holds a LLB Law and Politics degree from Cardiff University, Level 2 British Sign Language, PRINCE2 and AGILE project management qualifications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julia Fazackerley, Director of Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Julia leads GamCare\u2019s Business Development team which focuses on strategic business development and income generation, sustainability, and diversification. The team also delivers the inception and delivery of a range of innovation service pilots. Julia has over a 25-year history working within the health, justice and social care sector. She began work in the substance misuse sector, within young people\u2019s and criminal justice services, including developing and overseeing regional prison-based contracts. From there she has overseen a range of community and criminal justice addiction services, commissioned by local authorities and NHS. She has worked as a freelancer, supporting organisations in bids and governance developments (including Forward Trust, EDP [now Waythrough], NHS Trust). In 2018, Julia moved into the gambling support sector, as a Director at Gordon Moody. She holds a Masters in Health and Social Care Management, Postgrad Diploma in Substance Misuse Policy, and LLB in Law and Criminology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claire Nugent, Director of HR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Claire leads GamCare\u2019s People and Organisational Development team which is accountable for delivering specialist HR operation, recruitment and learning and organisational development functions. The team are responsible for ensuring GamCare recruits talented colleagues, which are developed and supported to enable them to provide excellent service to those affected by gambling harms. Claire is a chartered member of the CIPD. She has spent her entire career within HR, spanning several different sectors, including the private and manufacturing sectors at Accenture and Unilever, but has primarily worked within the charity sector for Parkinson\u2019s UK, Barnardo\u2019s and The Prince\u2019s Trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicky Wade, Director of Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nicky joined GamCare in September 2025, bringing 20+ years of experience leading finance, systems &amp; IT, data, risk management and other enabling functions in both not-for-profit and commercial sectors. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England &amp; Wales, and with a degree in Chemical &amp; Process Engineering, Nicky spent the first part of her career in audit practice before moving into a senior finance role in the fitness industry and then, in 2015, transferring her skills to the charity sector.<\/p>\n<div class=\"o-flex-blocks\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"o-flex-blocks\"><\/div>\n<h3>The Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>GamCare is seeking to appoint up to four Trustees to join its Board at a pivotal moment for the organisation and the wider gambling harms sector.
