Thank you for your interest in Football Beyond Borders (FBB). We are excited to be recruiting a new Chair to build on the great work the charity is doing and to help us achieve more.
FBB exists to support young people who are disengaged at school and passionate about football, in order to help them finish school with the skills and grades to make a successful transition into adulthood. We do this by providing long-term, intensive support, built around relationships and young people’s passions, in the classroom and beyond. We are an asset-based organisation with a view that all our interventions must build from a young person’s strengths and passions.
We were founded in 2014 and now work with 2,500 young people across our partner schools in the West Midlands, London, Essex, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. Over the past five years we have grown significantly in reputation, scope and influence and we have put firm foundations in place to ensure that we have a sustainable future.
I’ve loved my time as the Chair of Trustees at FBB – it is a vibrant organisation, led by a team of inspiring and intelligent individuals with big ambitions for the charity.
As the Chair of FBB, you will bring your knowledge, experience and skills to help us to make an even greater difference to the lives of the young people with whom we work. You will be committed to delivering meaningful outcomes for our young people and to reaching ever greater numbers of young people through our national expansion.
You will be responsible for ensuring the charity is well governed and able to achieve its charitable objectives in the context of a fast-changing world. You will be leading a highly effective group of Trustees who themselves bring a mix of skills to the table from the worlds of football, education, finance, media, and business. You will also be expected to represent the organisation at our external events with our patrons and supporters from the world of football.
