Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Financial Officer at English Heritage.
2025 saw English Heritage pass a significant milestone, celebrating our 10th anniversary as a leading national heritage and conservation charity, caring for many of England’s most historically significant places and objects, and sharing their stories with the public through great days out and inspiring events. The income we generate from membership, ticket sales and commercial activities enables us to serve over 10 million visitors a year and has allowed us to invest over £370 million in conservation, site infrastructure and visitor experience since our formation in 2015.
Whilst we have a strong record of achievement, we recognise the exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We must navigate the challenges of post Covid visitor volumes, the rising costs of conservation work, and the investment required to ensure that our heritage assets are in a sustainable condition, and that our visitor and technology infrastructure are fit for purpose.
Our Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping our future. Working closely with our Board and executive team and overseeing a complex investment pipeline, we are looking for someone who marries commercial disciple with collaborative influence.
If you are excited about a future where England’s historic places, objects and stories are conserved, championed and celebrated to inspire generations for years to come, then I would be delighted to hear from you.

Interim CEO, English Heritage
