About the Role
The Director of WMRJI will be a catalytic, relational leader capable of operating across complex regional systems. This role demands strategic clarity, emotional intelligence, and theological integrity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shaping and executing WMRJI’s regional strategy in collaboration with the Board
- Embedding racial justice into diocesan practices and policies
- Managing a multi-disciplinary team and aligning resources with strategic priorities
- Coordinating partnerships with racial justice groups and external agencies
- Designing leadership pathways that uplift UKME/GMH voices
- Monitoring impact and ensuring transparent reporting to Dioceses and other Church bodies
- Convening a regional network of racial justice champions and amplifying their work
The Director will also be responsible for convening regional networks, fostering dialogue, and helping the Church reflect the diversity and justice at the heart of its gospel.
Remuneration: The position attracts a salary of £61,800, in addition the postholder will be enrolled in a non-contributory pension scheme where 12% employer contributions are made with no requirement for employee contribution, this includes three-times salary death in service benefit.
Contract-term: The role has funding confirmed until 31 December 2027. An offer of funding to extend this period to a total of ten years is in the process of being further explored and agreed.
