Location: Diocesan Office, St. Nicholas Church, Boley Hill, Rochester

Grade: Grade 10

Reporting To: Diocesan Secretary

Salary Range: From £61,766

Purpose of Job

Lead the implementation of the newly-developed diocesan strategy across the organisation through a widespread programme.

Develop and lead, in conjunction with the Diocesan Secretary, the funding bids and sources needed to deliver the strategy.

Manage all aspects of the Strategy Programme including governance, reporting, project development, delivery of particular initiatives and development of project management capacity.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Define, agree and maintain the approach and plan for delivery of the diocesan strategy.
  2. Work with the Bishop, Diocesan Secretary and Strategy Programme Board to manage the delivery and implementation of the strategy, including:
  • Governance
  • Reporting
  • Plans
  • Monitoring, review and evaluation
  • Measurement of impact
  • Risks and issues
  • Budgets and financial management
  • Programme/project delivery resources
  • Partnerships
  • Stakeholder management and communication
  1. Lead, develop and line manage the diocesan Projects Team
  2. Oversee and enable the design and use of data to inform strategy delivery and focus resources by establishing impacts, trends, priorities, vulnerabilities and risks.
  3. Explore, develop and manage strategic funding opportunities, including the collation of bids, in particular the NCI Strategic Mission and Ministry funding bid.
  4. Oversee and develop the fundraising function to support the strategic funding objectives of the Diocesan strategy.
  5. Work with Communications colleagues and key stakeholders to develop communication materials that ensure on-going two-way communication that equips and inspires people across the Diocese.
  6. Work with Finance colleagues to ensure budgets and financial plans maximise resources to bring about impactful change.
  7. Oversee the management and administration of the data, materials and reports to the Programme Board, Bishops Council, Finance Committee, Diocesan Synod and extended Bishops Leadership Team.
