Title: Deputy CEO, Learning and Programmes
Salary: £65k-£75k
Direct Reports: Senior Leadership Team, Deputy Head of Learning and Programmes. Interim line management of members of the Programmes Team as and when required.
Purpose of the role
- To make a significant and effective contribution to DiNN & its success.
- To deliver on the Theory of Change and to develop and deliver in partnership with the Directors and Leadership team, a strategic plan including the development of our services, manage a substantial budget, and support a passionate and committed team of staff.
- Monitor the external environment, identifying key changes, opportunities, and challenges for DINN and develop and deliver strategies to mitigate the associated risks alongside the Directors and Leadership team.
Deputy duties
- Work closely with the CEO on all aspects of DiNN’s work with regards to the following responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction to the organisation.
- Ensure that the processes and systems managing financial, and all other resources of the organisation are effective and support the strategic plan alongside the broader leadership team.
- Efficiently manage strategic priorities and plans for professional and service functions, ensuring intelligent, efficient, partnership focused services, achievement of plans and targets and delivering a comprehensive range of professional and effective services to meet organisation needs.
- Support robust governance at organisational and departmental level.
- Drive income generation to meet organisation strategic and organisational needs.
Senior Leadership of the Organisation
- Work with the Non-Executive Directors and the Senior Leadership Team to realise our vision, deliver our strategy and supporting our people to establish a vibrant culture, building confidence in the future direction of DiNN.
- Act as an organisational expert, providing key direction and expertise for the wider organisation.
- Lead as an autonomous, decisive organisation leader. Not merely raising problems but also proactively working with others to solve them.
- Build the credibility of a thought leader externally. Grow the brand, reputation and impact of DiNN through public speaking and external representation.
Learning and Programmes
- Taking overall responsibility for standards, the quality of learning opportunities, and the accuracy and completeness of training.
- Work with the CEO and leadership team to design, develop and deliver research based programmes and services.
- Provide oversight to ensure that DINN is delivering to a standard that meets the highest requirements of external agencies’ quality frameworks, policies, procedures, and codes of practice and the quality of the delivery process for all workstreams, including communication with applicants, onboarding and offboarding as well as monitoring and evaluation.
- Be responsible for the production of reports, analysis, and evaluation reporting progress and areas for improvement directly to the Director Board.
- Design of the overall programmatic and events content strategy, taking into account the different organisational goals, audiences served, and stages of the participant journey.
- Be responsible for the design and implementation of our annual programmes calendar, including facilitating cohorts; delivering large and small events and programmes including high level conferences and forums.
- Adopt best practices such as participatory grantmaking, co-design and other key practices to ensure that our service users are always at the centre of our design and delivery.
- Champion the needs of our service users as a representative of them at events, working to ensure there is better sector wide understanding of their needs in terms of access to finance, finance related training and wider capacity building/infrastructure needs.
- Guide the development of research outputs that document our organisational impact.
- To carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role.
