Our Communities
We understand the need for nuance and specificity, which is why we have created several communities that you can join. Each with its unique landscape, language, and content.

Championing Lived Experience
Our belief is that by supporting individuals we are championing the needs of broader and overlapping Black communities, bringing more equity to existing systems.
We do this through a number of programmes and opportunities that seek to identify, engage and significantly support individuals as they seek to solve problems they have experienced in their own communities.
We Work Across the UK
In the UK we support entrepreneurs and social innovators through a mixture of online and offline activities, giving Black entrepreneurs access to experts, tools and resources they would find difficult to access elsewhere. Through our projects and initiatives, we effectively re-purpose existing government, charity and corporation resources for the benefit of under-served communities.
Advocacy and Systems Change
We dedicate our resources to being a voice for change in a sector that struggles with trust and clarity. Through our articles, reports, and discussions we build a common language for rebuilding systems, changing power structures, and bringing the stories of lived-experience leaders to our community of service users and funders alike.
Through our advocacy we show our community that they are not alone as we work to improve funding for Black-led organisations. We build a common narrative and resources that people can use to advocate for themselves, and invite funders and fund managers to understand true equity and what support really looks like from the inside.
We Believe in Open Innovation
When beginning the development of our own design methodology in 2016, we came to the conclusion that Open Innovation should be at the heart of the work we do. We believe it is necessary and possible for organisations that host power and influence in this current day to engage with stakeholders within primary, secondary and tertiary fields to discuss, design and deliver models that will benefit the increasingly diverse global population.
Open Innovation is an opportunity to open doors and form effective collaborations between grassroots and established players seeking to solve a similar problem. By uniting and facilitating effective collaborations between large corporations, NGOs and government bodies with small and medium sized Black-led charities and social enterprises, we are creating opportunities for lasting positive change to occur on both sides of the aisle.
