We are looking for Trustees who have the courage to openly advocate change, loyalty to the organisation and our values and the capacity to maintain the pace of the work that we have begun. We are particularly interested in hearing from those with experience in fundraising (grants and trusts and / or HNW and philanthropy), charity governance and risk, risk (finance and partnership), advocacy and public square, social and urban deprivation, academic theology, adult or professional learning.
- Taking a personal responsibility and the ability to relate will be important skills so that you can act as an ambassador for our work and values.
- You will be passionate about our work and understand something about the contribution the Church can make to creating a better society.
- You will also be able to recognise of the work we do requires active listening, avoiding the temptation to come to easy answers, but then when we are clear being able to ensure that we deliver real and positive change.
- Our culture is one where we have a care for each other and a mutual respect but we value honest critique and challenge and we will look for this in our Chair.
- You will have some time to give to us and the capacity to travel and attend events from time to time.
Your Experience
- You will bring experience and ideally have a reputation in your field for delivery.
- It will be a bonus for us if you have experience of the charitable sector and some non-executive experience would be useful.
Your Knowledge
- A broad understanding of civil society and current issues affecting it.
- Strong leadership skills will come easily to you and will have the ability to motivate staff and volunteers and bring people together.
- You will know about financial management and have a broad understanding of charity finance issues.
- You will also have a good understanding of charity governance issues.
