Purpose of Job:<\/h3>\n

You will lead Comic Relief\u2019s income strategy and delivery at a critical point of transformation, rebuilding core fundraising while creating a more diversified, resilient and future-facing income model.
\nThis role is accountable for delivering sustainable income growth, strengthening our connection with audiences, and ensuring Comic Relief can maximise long-term impact at scale.
\nThis is both a transformation and growth role, stabilising and modernising existing income streams while building new sources of income, and bringing these together as a single, deliberate and joined-up income strategy.<\/p>\n

Role Overview:<\/h3>\n

The Chief Income Officer is responsible for leading and delivering Comic Relief\u2019s income strategy across all streams, including:
\n\u2022 Public fundraising
\n\u2022 Corporate partnerships
\n\u2022 Philanthropy and high value giving
\n\u2022 Trusts, foundations and institutional funding
\n\u2022 Commercial and IP-based income<\/p>\n

You will integrate these into a coherent, portfolio-led approach, balancing short-term income delivery with long-term growth, and ensuring a more diversified and sustainable income base.<\/p>\n

Income Strategy & Growth<\/h4>\n

  • Define and lead a clear, organisation-wide income strategy across all streams.<\/li>\n
  • Own delivery of income growth over the short, medium and long term.<\/li>\n
  • Build and actively manage a balanced portfolio of income streams, optimising for growth, risk and return.<\/li>\n
  • Make clear, evidence-based decisions on priorities, investment and trade-offs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Transformation & Innovation<\/h4>\n

    • Lead the rebuild and modernisation of public fundraising.<\/li>\n
    • Develop and scale new income streams and fundraising models.<\/li>\n
    • Shift the organisation towards digital, data-led and audience-focused income generation.<\/li>\n
    • Embed a disciplined test-and-learn approach, balancing innovation with performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Supporter Growth & Engagement<\/h4>\n

      • Strengthen supporter acquisition, retention and lifetime value.<\/li>\n
      • \u00a0Improve conversion from engagement to income across all channels.<\/li>\n
      • \u00a0Grow and deepen Comic Relief\u2019s supporter base and reach.<\/li>\n
      • Ensure consistent, high-quality supporter journeys end-to-end.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Work closely with the Executive Team to align income, content, brand and impact.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure income generation is embedded into campaigns and organisational planning from the outset.<\/li>\n
        • Act as a system leader, breaking down silos and driving a fully integrated approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Own income targets, forecasting and performance management.<\/li>\n
          • Establish clear, consistent metrics across all income streams.<\/li>\n
          • Use data and insight to continuously optimise performance and return on investment.<\/li>\n
          • Ensure strong financial discipline and sustainability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            • Represent Comic Relief with senior partners, donors and stakeholders.<\/li>\n
