Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Comic Relief.
You’ll already be familiar with our highly recognisable brand as well as our flagship Red Nose Day and Sport Relief events, which have encouraged millions of people over the last 30 years to do some fun and inspiring things to raise over £1 billion for people living incredibly tough lives. Unique is an often over-used word but the way we engage with the public is genuinely unique
We’re still working towards our mission of a just world free from poverty and maintaining our high-profile in a modern media landscape and fast-changing environment. We have a great Board and management team but we need to keep innovating and our Board is key to this ambition, reflecting our values and purpose.
Over the past eighteen months we have considered how to best engage with the communities we support, as well as the challenges of income generation across disparate and increasingly digital audiences. We have identified the need to expand our Board, recruiting for two new Trustees – one who is able to bring additional expertise in social impact with a focus on Africa and the other who has expertise around innovative ways of income generation. These skills are fundamental to the work that Comic Relief does and pivotal to our future success.
I hope that I have been able to share some of our excitement at the challenges ahead.
