The Church of England is for everyone, and we want our Board and Committees to reflect the diversity of the community that the Church serves across the whole country. Therefore, while of course all applications from interested and suitably experienced people are welcomed, we would particularly welcome applicants from GMH/UKME backgrounds, women, younger people, LGBT+ people, people with disabilities, and people from a range of social backgrounds and with a variety of lived experience. We will be pleased to make adjustments necessary to accommodate candidates with disabilities, during the recruitment process and following appointment. Our diversity, equity & inclusion Charter (here) explains further our attitude and approach to diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Board and Committees take active steps to maintain and enhance the positive, inclusive culture we have worked hard to create. Our aim is for all members to feel comfortable, to feel able to offer an alternative view and to feel able to celebrate successes or respond to challenges together. Applicants should feel confident that the Church Commissioners is a collaborative and inclusive place and, if appointed, you will as a senior trustee be expected to support, maintain and embody this culture.
