Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the role of UK Director, a leadership position with national and international reach.

At CEI, our mission is to make a difference for people facing adversity through the effective implementation of evidence into policy and practice.

We know that well-evidenced and well-implemented innovations can improve lives.

A global, non-profit, social purpose organisation, CEI works across the spectrum of evidence, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

We conduct active implementation support projects, design and lead evaluations, and compile evidence syntheses across a range of areas, including early childhood, education, employment, health and mental health, child and family services, youth justice, and international development.

From our head office in Melbourne, Australia, CEI’s multidisciplinary team collaborates globally with researchers, policymakers, practitioners and funders. Since our establishment in 2016, CEI has grown from a single founder to a global team of 60 people across offices in London, Oslo, Melbourne, Sydney, and Singapore, delivering more than 300 projects across 20 countries.

Since the UK office was established in late 2019, its impact has been significant. We have built an exciting portfolio of projects alongside the What Works centres, government agencies, social sector organisations, and philanthropy – with our work directly affecting policy and practice across a number of sectors. UK revenue in 2024 was more than 7 times what it was in 2020, while the staff has grown from 1 to 15 over five years.

CEI’s tight-knit UK team brings exceptional experience, insights, and stability, with most having been with the organisation for several years.

The new Director will be part of a global leadership team, will oversee the programme of work and team in the UK, and will lead projects and large-scale bids.

We’re excited to welcome a leader ready to make a significant social impact, to join us in strategic leadership the organisation, and to enact meaningful, actionable change.

If you are a seasoned leader with relevant experience, excited by the opportunity to nurture and grow a high performing team, steer research, and make a difference in the world, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
