    We are a public corporation, established by Parliament in 1972 as an independent specialist aviation regulator. The UK Government requires that our costs are fully covered by charges to those we provide a service to or regulate.<\/p>\n

    OUR PEOPLE AND THEIR WORK<\/h2>\n

    Safety & Airspace Regulation Group (SARG)<\/h3>\n

    Drive UK civil aviation safety standards including overseeing aircraft, airlines, and air traffic controllers. Responsible for the planning and regulation of UK airspace. Also responsible for delivering large programmes of change required to enable innovation in UK aviation.<\/p>\n

    Aviation Security<\/h3>\n

    Play a crucial role in regulatory activity, supporting security policy, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n

    Communications, Strategy & Policy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    CAA source of analysis and insight, oversight of corporate strategy and cross-organisational policy development. Our Sustainability Team sit in this directorate.<\/p>\n

    Air Safety Support International (ASSI)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Air Safety Support International is a subsidiary company of CAA to help provide a system of civil aviation safety regulation in the UK Overseas Territories.<\/p>\n

    Consumer & Markets Group<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Making sure the aviation market works to protect and benefit air passengers, regulating airports and air traffic services, airlines, and air holiday companies.<\/p>\n

    Professional Services Group<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Provides a range of services to prioritise professional customer care and champion continuous service improvements for internal and external customers. This includes issuing flight crew licencing, providing training and advice through CAA International (CAAi) to enhance aviation and aerospace standards, and providing environmental research and consultancy, among other services.<\/p>\n

    Corporate Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Teams include Finance, HR, Communications, Estates, Internal Compliance & Security and IT.<\/p>\n

    Office of the General Counsel (OGC)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    OGC works across all areas of the CAA business to provide an excellent level of support. It consists of the in-house legal team, investigations and enforcement team, corporate governance and the internal audit team.<\/p>\n
