About the Role
₿trust is looking to hire a full-time Chief Executive Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering on the organisation’s mission, working closely with the board to ensure that the organisation remains aligned with its Genesis Principles and Operational Guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Collaboration with the board on long-term strategic and shorter-term operational planning to deliver on ₿trust’s objectives.
- Developing and leading day-to-day delivery of periodic (e.g., annual) operational plans and models, including for human and financial resourcing in alignment with Genesis Principles.
- Proactively source and attract top developer talent, with a focus on underrepresented communities in the Global South.
- Articulate ₿trust’s mission and values to motivate engineers to commit their skills and time to Bitcoin’s open-source ecosystem.
- Ensure supported developers have the mentorship, resources, and operational backing they need, from onboarding through ongoing project work to succeed and grow.
- Oversight of ₿trust’s finances and budgeting, including periodic (annual, quarterly, monthly, and ongoing) financial plans and forecasts.
- Quarterly Reporting to the board against operational plans, showing operational and financial trends and results.
- Providing team leadership to ensure organisational policies and culture are in alignment with Genesis Principles and Good Practice, including regarding Duty of Care.
- In the longer term, working to secure additional not-for-profit funding sources to support the ongoing mission.
Reporting Lines
- The Chief Executive Officer will report to the ₿trust board.
- They will be expected to have monthly meetings with the board for the first 6 months, potentially reducing to quarterly beyond this point.
- Meetings will cover updates on all operational and financial aspects of the company’s operations.
- General updates on the ecosystem in which the organisation operates.
- Any other matters that the board requires, as applicable to the operations of the organisation.
