How to Apply

To apply for this role, please provide the following documents:

  • An up-to-date CV. Please submit a PDF document labelled ‘CV’ with your name and the role title.
  • A supporting statement answering the below questions, max 250 words per question:
    1. What attracts you to this role? Why now?
    2. Looking 5-10 years ahead, how do you see the environment for voluntary income and public support for charities changing? What signals, trends or indicators do you pay most attention to, and how do you translate these into strategic choices today?
    3. Describe a time when you led or sponsored a significant innovation, or a major strategic investment where there was limited precedent or incomplete evidence. How did you decide when to proceed, how did you manage risk, and what did you learn from the outcome?
    4. The British Red Cross has highly experienced specialists across mass fundraising, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, appeals and marketing. Please describe a time you led subject matter experts, harnessing their expertise, in areas where you yourself were not an expert? How did you maintain credibility in arenas outside of your areas of expertise?
    5. How have you influenced thinking and action across different functions (such as policy, programmes, services and delivery teams) to strengthen long‑term income generation? How do you ensure income‑generation considerations are understood, prioritised and embedded in organisational strategy and decision‑making?
    6. What areas of stretch might there be for you in this role? How might the British Red Cross help you address them once in post?
  • A completed diversity monitoring form on the application link.
