Welcome

Thank you for your interest in becoming the next CEO of BRE Group. BRE’s history stretches back over 100 years and, in that time, (initially in public ownership and more recently privately held) it has evolved into a world-leading organisation with a mission to solve built environment challenges. BRE’s purpose is to contribute to a thriving and sustainable world by developing science-led solutions to built environment challenges. Responsibility – amongst ourselves, towards our customers and with wider society – is at the heart of this purpose.

Our outgoing CEO, Gillian Charlesworth, leaves BRE Group in a strong position, having navigated the Covid-19 pandemic and other headwinds, and there is a firm foundation on which you will be able to build. As the global landscape changes rapidly, whether in the built environment sector, digitally, environmentally or otherwise, our CEO will lead us through an exciting period of possibility and change. We will be exploring a range of different strategic and investment opportunities that will best serve the future success of the BRE Group. We have a multi-year strategy in place and, working closely with our Board, Executive Team and BRE Trust, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of the BRE Group.

BRE comprises over 500 colleagues across the UK, Ireland, USA, Europe and China, with headquarters in Watford. We are looking for a CEO with a collaborative, empowering approach to leadership grounded in inclusivity and wellbeing, as much as an ability to make the most of the skills, knowledge and passion of those around them. Energy, enthusiasm and pragmatism will be required to deliver tangible outcomes for BRE Group’s customers, stakeholders and colleagues.

I am delighted to be Chair of BRE Trust and am excited to be looking for a CEO who shares my passion for the built environment. If the above sounds like you, we would love to hear from you, and I cannot wait to work with you to deliver on our joint ambitions. Together, we can improvement the built environment for all.

Phil Wilbraham
Chair of BRE Trust
