Essential
- Demonstrable commitment to the promotion of social justice, commitment to an independent Third Sector and an understanding of how to influence public policy.
- Proven leadership skills, entrepreneurship and dynamism.
- Understanding of the relative roles of Chair, Trustees and Chief Executive.
- Experience of working with a Trustee Board or similar governing body. Note that our quarterly board meetings are on Saturdays.
- Ability to lead and develop an Executive Team.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic and operational plans.
- Experience of financial planning, management and control and commitment to maintaining financial probity and implementing robust financial procedures.
- Experience of investment management or a keen interest to develop these skills.
- Ability to develop and implement a risk management strategy.
- Ability to develop a strong performance management culture within the workplace.
- Ability to operate effectively with a wide range of people such as high-level stakeholders, third sector partners, campaigners and experts by experience.
- An understanding of strategic communications methods and their uses.
- Experience of handling the press and media.
- Commitment to the promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion across all the activities of the Trust.
- A clear and persuasive communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing to work within a Quaker ethos of commitment to social justice.
- Available to travel within the UK and Europe.
Desirable
- Direct or indirect experience of due diligence and financial resource allocation.
- Experience of developing partnerships/income generation.
